My husband, Ben and I took a two week trip to India in June of 2009. Talk about the spot for photo ops! This picture of Ben and I was taken in a town called Sholapur. It was taken right before a church service. That's why we are shoeless. In India you remove your shoes before you step into a church or someone's home. Some business in the smaller towns practices this as well.

Here are a few of the portraits I took in Mumbai (Bombay).


You may recognize this building from the news footage on November 26, 2008. It's called the Taj Hotel.



This was the view from our room while we stayed in Mumbai. We stayed at a Hotel called the Residency. The Taj definitely was not in our price range!


This was a beautiful street in one of the nicer business districts in Mumbai. This was about a block from our Hotel. In hind sight, I wish I had taken a picture of the McDonalds we ate out that was also right down the street from our Hotel! Oh well, maybe we'll be able to go back some day.

I'm planning to make a hard back book of all the portraits I was able to take in India, I'll let you know how that goes.

#1 Nephew

After years of taking pictures of little girls in our family.... finally a break! Little Peyton Nathan was born the first week in January! Talk about starting a new year off right!

While taking pictures of little girls in bows, bright dresses and designer tights is quite a blast. The simplicity of little boys is a wonderful change!


Peyton was a dream to take portraits of! His mommy got his little belly full, and he was happy to oblige us... oh, and since he was naked most of the time, Kelly and I both had to sweat like athletes! Peyton however, was perfectly comfortable with the 80 degree temperatures in the living room!
